Movie plot
After Jonathan Harker attacks Dracula at his castle, the vampire travels to a nearby city, where he preys on the family of Harker's fiancée. The only one who may be able to protect them is Dr. van Helsing, Harker's friend and fellow-student of vampires, who is determined to destroy Dracula, whatever the cost.

A mio avviso è il migliore Dracula cinematografico, forse perché è stato un mito della mia adolescenza, forse per la contrapposizione tra loro di due mostri sacri del genere, Lee e Cushing, forse per
la caratterizzazione di Lee molto affascinante rispetto a quella a volte trombona di vampiri messicani o americani a basso costo.
Fisher è uno specialista (anche un remake della 'Mummia' al suo attivo).
Il film è un horror d'annata: poco sangue rispetto ai giorni d'oggi, e un insistere su paure e atmosfere più che su squartamenti e violenze gratuite.
Forse è per questo che lo apprezzo. un horror pulito d'altri tempi che richiama giovani paure adolescenziali e altri tempi dove un conte era un vampiro, ma anche un signore.
