Movie plot
After stalking and saving the life of her favorite fiction author in a car accident, his manic obsessor holds him captive in her remote Colorado home then forces him to write back to life the popular literary character he killed off.

Forse dirò un'eresia e qualcuno potrebbe risentirsene, ma ho preferito il film al libro.
Quest'ultimo mi è apparso personalmente piuttosto verboso, con un intercalare tra storia e libro di Misery che ho trovato alquanto fastidioso. Il film, invece, decolla e va subito al sodo in atmosfera thrilling notevolissima. Lo stralunato quasi catatonico Caan in contrasto con la pazzia solo apparentemente innoqua della Bates sono una miscela esplosiva che avvince in buon climax.
La fine è scontata, a maggiore ragione se si è letto il libro, e tuttavia arriva potente come un ferro da stiro sulla faccia, e mi si scusi la citazione.
Insomma buon film e per una volta un regista ha superato lo scrittore.
