Movie plot
Corporate billionaire Edward Cole and working class mechanic Carter Chambers are worlds apart. At a crossroads in their lives, they share a hospital room and discover they have two things in common: a desire to spend the time they have left doing everything they ever wanted to do and an unrealized need to come to terms with who they are.

Luoghi comuni cuciti addosso a due istrioni che si divertono più del pubblico, probabilmente.
Trama incentrata sui se, ottimismo e retorica americana a piene mani, fettone di cipolla di buoni sentimenti a suscitare lacrimucce di palati sensibili quanto ingenui.
Due risatine ogni tanto sono la classica montagna che ha partorito il topolino.
Il film si regge più che altro sulla suspence circa la realizzazione dell'ultima lista dei desideri, e francamente è pochino, seppure con il condimento di buone scene e discreto ritmo.
Rob Reiner, pur non avendo mai brillato se non come onesto mestierante, ha fatto di molto meglio (Codice d'onore - Misery). Nicholson, soprattutto lui, e in misura minore Freeman, sono al limite del fastidioso.
