Film ruffianotto, che strizza un occhio al violento, uno occhio al morboso, un occhio ( ma quanti occhi ci sono?) al sentimentale e al retorico, e cerchiobotta qui e là tra scene truci e scene toccanti.
Lo Spielberg più commerciale e leccaculo. Nulla a che vedere con altri del genere più schierati e urticanti: Kapo, Il Falsario etc.
Ma il film funziona abbastanza, per ritmo e pathos, e si vede pur scuotendo il capo, ché il mestiere c'è.
