    Si può ipotizzare che un film che parli di soldi, borsa, economia in genere, possa essere alla lunga noioso, ma la tematica, in mano ad un bravo regista come Stone, si trasforma in azione, lotta contro il tempo, vetrina del lusso e dell'apparire, storia tormentata di sentimenti, di contrasti familiari, di dialettica, di arrivismo: insomma una storia molto complessa di esistenzialismo che sovrasta e rischia di far soccombere.
    Papà Sheen è un grande anche se il figlio tiene testa pur con qualche sbavatura nella recitazione e Douglas è un vero animale da palcoscenico e, non a caso, ha vinto un Oscar con la sua interpretazione.
    Insomma, un ottimo film pieno di mordente e con tanta carne al fuoco, ma ben cotta e saporita.
